Waters Corp. announced that it has completed the purchase of
the net assets of Analytical Products Group, Inc. (APG) of Belpre,
Ohio, for an undisclosed amount. Waters® will immediately
merge APG into its existing Environmental Resource Associates
(ERA) operations. Current annual revenues for APG are approximately $4 million and the acquisition is expected to be neutral to
Waters Corporation’s 2009 earnings.
United Air Specialists (UAS) announced the addition of Diversified
Air Systems, Inc., as a representative for its full line of dust and
mist/fume collection equipment. The company will now be the
exclusive source for UAS dust and mist/fume filtration solutions in
Kentucky and southern Indiana.

BioShaft Wastewater Treatment plant and process. The Company

Siemens is to provide a wastewater treatment solution to help
Chinese City restore water quality in Taihu Lake. The lake has
been heavily polluted by municipal sewage and industrial wastewater. The solution from Siemens will include a Membrane
Biological Reactor (MBR) system for the upgrading of Wuxi
Xincheng Wastewater Treatment Plant, one of the city’s three
main wastewater treatment plants. The MBR system will treat
30,000 cubic meters of wastewater per day, and will play an
important role in helping the city to treat more than 90 percent of
its wastewater by 2010. The system is scheduled for commissioning at the end of 2008.
Ordna na Mona was awarded odor control system contracts in
Italy and the UK worth $2.5 million.
Aquatech International Corp. has received an order from SNC-Lavalin Inc. (Toronto) as agent for the Ambatovy Minerals SA and
Dynatec Madagascar SA nickel-cobalt mining and processing
project in Madagascar (Ambatovy Project).
N.A. Water Systems, a Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies
company, announced today the groundbreaking of a $25 million
project to design and build a water treatment plant at the Minera
Chinalco Peru S.A. Kingsmill Tunnel Water Treatment Plant site east
of Lima near the border of Junin Province. N.A. Water Systems is
partnered with Cosapi S.A. Ingenieria Y Construccion, a Peruvian
engineering and construction company.
Honeywell announced that it has won an $11 million contract to
provide process control hardware and software to Nuon’s
Magnum plant, a 1300 megawatt combined-cycle ( 3 units)
power station under construction in Eemshaven, The
Netherlands. The contract win follows the completion of an engineering and design study initiated by Honeywell in 2007.
The Nuon Magnum plant, now in its first phase of construction,
can supply electricity for approximately two million homes.
Taking another important step toward meeting Algeria’s growing
energy needs, state-owned power company Sonelgaz has
signed service agreements with GE Energy worth more than US
$1 billion. The service agreements will help to improve efficiency,
output and reliability of 51 gas turbines installed in 13 power
plants across the country.
